Ingredients

  • ½ (50 g) orange
  • ½ (50 g) grapefruit
  • 1 whole (50 g) lemon
  • 30 g brown sugar
  • 20 ml water
  • 10 g butter
  • 5 g cinnamon powder

For the cake;

  • 70 g all-purpose flour
  • 50 g granulated sugar
  • 50 g unsalted butter, softened.
  • 1 large egg
  • 40 ml milk
  • 5 g vanilla extract
  • 5 g baking powder
  • 2 g salt

Preparation

  • In a saucepan combine brown sugar, water and cinnamon. Heat until starts bubbling and add butter in it. Cook for 3 minutes and set aside.

  • Cut the citrus square shape about 1 cm thick.

  • In a 9 cm square cake pan pour the sauce first. Place square shape citrus in a line and set aside.

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C.

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well. Add the softened butter to the dry ingredients and mix until you have a crumbly texture.

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk and vanilla extract with electric mixer. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  • Pour the cake batter in the cake pan.

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes.

  • Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for a few minutes, then turn it over in a serving plate and serve.

  • Enjoy!
